May 10, 2017 Enable Thunderbolt 3 on GA-z270x Gaming 7. Even gone the route of starting a firmware update which triggers the TBT3 port to activate and show that there is 1 controller and 2 ports. When I reset the USB external drive and plug it in, it reverts to the UASP driver. The Intel Z270 chipset supports 14 USB 2.0 ports and ten USB 3. Go to the Gigabyte support site for your motherboard and download the chipset update (inf update). After installing the chipset update, reboot and look in Device Manager for any anomalies. NOTE: MEI update and prerequisite hot fix at the same support location.

* Gigabyte motherboard GA-Z170X-UD3 * 2 Kingston SSD HD (SATA connection) 240 GB * 2 Seagate SATA HD 3 TB * 1 DVD-RW (SATA). * 32 GB Kingston RAM * Intel CPU I5 or I7 Question 1: HD and DVD are connected with SATA-cables to 5 of 6 SATA connectors on the M-board. SATA mode = RAID. 'HD mode' = Legacy (if trying disabled or UHCI the DVD-RW is not found). During installation of Windows SBS 2011 (windows server 2008 R2) I could install OS to the SSD RAID-set as wanted. This RAID-set is shown as one single hardrive 240 GB as it should be. But, my 3 TB RAID-set are not working. It is shown as two separate disc at 746 GB. Any idea of why? Question 2: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 7 DriversI have found that this M-board has no drivers for WIndows server OS, but it is to late to start from scratch now. Do you know a way to find drivers for those missing after installation of OS? See attached screen shot. I would need a RAID driver/software and maybe also a good idea to install drivers för theese system devices in device manager. Gigabyte Z170x G1 GamingI think best option is to point them to the driver list, scroll down to Intel and choose the nearest intel device from the list. Or are there any drivers working for server OS ? Usb Controller Driver For Vistadisk.png unknown_devices.png Z170x Gaming 3 Drivers
Gigabyte Z170x Missing Usb Controller Driver Download
I just upgraded my machine from AMD to Intel Skylake. I am running a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 (rev. 1.0), Intel 6700k, 32 GB DDR4 @ 2133 (only 16 usable due to Windows 7 Home Premium), and an EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC, all on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. When looking under device manager I see under other device 'Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller'. I have tried to get drivers through Windows which does not work. I did go to Gigabytes website and download what i thought I needed but nothing seems to help. When I click on 'properties' it says 'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28).' Everything else works fine, CPU, GPU, RAM, Blu-ray drive, Card reader, ect. I do not know what the unknown device is. Under hardware ID it says 'PCIVEN_8086&DEV_15B6&SUBSYS_11112222&REV_00
PCIVEN_8086&DEV_15B6&SUBSYS_11112222 PCIVEN_8086&DEV_15B6&CC_0C0330 PCIVEN_8086&DEV_15B6&CC_0C03' which I have tried to google and nothing comes up. Thanks for reading. If you have any solutions please post them. Comments are closed.
